BIPT imposes a 16% decrease of the wholesale mobile termination rates

Brussels, 31 May 2017 – After a market analysis, the BIPT Council adopted a new decision regarding the mobile call termination market.

Based on an updated cost model, BIPT imposes a maximum termination rate of 0.99 eurocent/min on mobile telephony operators.

The other measures laid down by this decision concern, among others, transparency, non-discrimination and interconnection between operators.

The decision enters into force on 1 July 2017.
